Deciding to scale

It’s a good problem to have. But also a tough decision to make.

Do you focus on profit, reinvest into stocks / real estate? Or do you reinvest profits back into the company and scale the business.

There isn’t a correct answer. It depends on what you are attempting to achieve but most importantly what you are passionate about.

Let me explain.

Motivation purely based on money has its limitations. This rings especially true when you are scaling for size.

Look at the likes of Deliveroo, or Amazon. If the Founders were purely focused on numbers, would the companies be what they are today?

To truly focus on long-term gains v short-term risks (financial, legal) — you need to believe your company and product are going to undoubtedly change and benefit the industry you are in.

This allows you to always look forward and towards the end goal, even when the numbers aren’t adding up or the world is on top of you.

As a business owner, what have I decided? Scale. Money doesn’t buy fulfillment. And that’s what I’m chasing.
